I have played live chess(time control range 2-20min) mostly on playchess.com and chess.com. I like the former more than chess.com(very slow). Any other place to try out?

I must admit, I've stopped playing chess on there due to constant abuse. Not only directed at me, but the general forum was awash with it. I still play other games; pool, crib, poker etc.
I once opened with 1..c4 and was immediately accused of being an engine user. Some of the ****holes on there deliberately try to goad you into resigning in order to get the points. On balance, I've met some good people too, so I'd say give it a try and make your own judgement.

Has an easy interface, good teaching videos and a lot of social options but some aspects they added for aesthetic wasnt necessary.

Yep quite a lot of anuses at pogo. I don't play their any more either. You can however have fun freaking out the sad gits.

The only site i've tried is FICS with Babas interface. I'm still a couple of games short of losing my provisional rating, but I have yet to encounter a rude player. I really like the interface though, you can easily set up the board and pieces to your liking.
