    It would be nice to actually see some games from first tournament but apparently they all have corrupted game history.

    EDIT : as far as I understand about grob from what I've read and experienced, you want to rule long diagonal, you want open center free (c4 almost a must?!) of pawns, you do not castle. But it doesn't seem hard for white to take safely center with pawns, and put his bishop to b7 and rule that diagonal as well.. As for common traps, then won't work against an 2000. Where I can read something to be better prepared ? Any famous game ?

    There's four books out there too, to my knowledge.

    While we're on the subject, I want to see some Romford counter gambits out there people, not any of this cowardly c3 or Ne7-Ng6-Nh4 stuff. If you're going to win with black do it in style!

    From memory as I'm at work

    The Tactical Grob by Hugh Bloodgood;
    The Killer Grob by Basman
    The Grob by Wall.

    I have these 3, can't think of the 4th offhand but if it exists I have it also.

    Those books are just as useless as the opening itself i'd be willing to bet.

    I have The Tactical Grob and The Killer Grob. Grob's Attack by Wall is one I don't have. He usually just dumps games together and calls it a book. Does anyone have Dynamic White Openings or Dynamic Black Defenses by Harding. They cover all the wild openings like 1. g4 and 1 . ...g5?

    1.g4?! d5 2.Bg2 e5 3.h3 h5! is pretty good for Black I'd say. It's what the Grobbists dread.

    Then for instance; 4.gxh5 Nf6 5.c4 dxc4 6.Qa4+ c6 7.Qxc4 Be6
    or
    4.g5 Bc5 5.d3 f5!

    Yesterday, after being up about 13 hours, I decided to give the Grob a test run. I seeked 3 0 unrated games with white, and played 1. g4 in every game. Here are my games. They are very flawed, but any Grob practice is good practice. I won every game, but some are time wins.

    Yes, I beat an ECF180 with it at the Portsmouth Congress in 2007.

    That game is on www.farehamchess.org.uk
