I have just started two games that were supposed to be quick movers only. The opponent moves three to four times and then goes away, so I can't quit the game without resigning. Are there any other options? Thanks,

Its annoying if set up with the intention of being quickplay. Set the time to 1/0 and claim a timeout after 24 hours.

It happens to me whenever I do that. I had 1 quickplay game go on 6 months. It was set up as 3/14 (error) and called "Quickplay, lets finish today", but he only moved once every 3 days and used all his timebank before I eventually timed out a won position.

Thanks for your help. This may be a dumb question, but how do you go about timing someone out?

Usually when they are out of time, a skull shows up in your "my games" next to the game you are playing with them. Click that skull.

Thanks for your help. I just read that on the FAQ. My bad for taking up people's time, but many thanks.

I must admit, I delight in accepting invites which are set up soemthing like this : 3/7 and Quick Game or Finish Today.

I then make a few quick moves as one often does in the opening, and then settle back intoa normal routine of a few moves a day. This is a CORROSPONDENCE CHESS site, if you want a quick game then play on Uchess or Gameknot etc.

You are doing the OTB equivalent of saying 'Let's play blitz' and then setting the clocks at 1 hour eacvh, doesn't make any sense.

I will get abuse for this I know, bring it on.

Happy New Year.

I don't understand why, though, when it is clearly evident that your opponent desires a quicker game than what you intend to play. It may be a correspondence chess site, however that does not mean that two people can not play a quick game if so desired.

Something doesn't quite seem correct, your profile says that you play in div 1 of the surrey league (which is the Surrey Trophy) but surely to play in that division you are talking about a min of about a 130 bcf rating just to scape in on the last board, I can't understand how your cc rating is below that level (bearing in mind that a cc rating would normally be well above an otb rating)

I see what your saying about this being a CC site but if your opponent clearly wants a quick game there is no reason to select the game.

I would therefore expect your cc rating to be about 2200. You must almost treat this as playing otb.
