As far as I know, that was more or less a hoax out of the hitler diaries which themselves were claimed as hoaxes.
There is no evidence of recorded games to my knowledge and I believe that if Hitler did play chess it was no more than a casual scale as there is hardly any evidential reference to the contrary on the net.
Just do a google search, "hitlers chess games" or similar and you will find almost nothing but rumours with no facts, and being possibly one of the most scrutinized famous lives of all time, you would expect there to be lots of concrete evidence if it were true.

Never heard of this before.

And I can only find some stories on it when I google it. Sorry no games so far.

I'm sure he was an attacking player, at least he didn't succeed in the Berliner defense 🙂

He also trashed the Slav defence, but his Goring (ok,ok) Gambit didn't work too well. Enough of this flippancy regards a serious subject.

(Interesting question, but I doubt that anything will ever be discovered)

Indeed that wouldve been more appropriate, I was making an effort not to get into a personal political discussion as the man interests me in no way whatsoever.

I recently read that Hitler brushed his teeth. Does anyone know if he favored up and down or swirly strokes? Perhaps side to side?

It wouldn't suprise me if he did play chess. We know he was a terror to the world but he did have some ideas ahead of his time. Wouldn't it make sense for him to play chess? He after all planned to rule the world and that had to have used a lot of strategy as does chess. Maybe he would have liked risk or stratego. lol

Actually, his first love was Chinese Checkers. (Few people know that the game itself was invented in Germany in 1893 under the name Stern-Halma.) However, he lost, badly and repeatedly. His dreams of becoming World Champion were utterly crushed. Then one day he noticed that the board was shaped like a six-pointed star. He put two and two together and got five, and after that we all know what happened...
