I put a lot into game selection.

Time control is a major factor of the game As Nabokov writes, "time is merciless in chess."

I promptly ignore the time controls of an open invite, and always assume that it's 3 days with 7 in the bank.

I appoach my RHP games as if they are OTB games. I do this because I don't get to play OTB very much if at all. So, if I ever get the chance to play OTB my "skills" will still be sharp. So I do get the feel of playing OTB

If the game is "close", I'll catch myself shuffling the pieces around before making my move. I kick myself for doing it since you can't do that OTB. But since it is leagal; I don't beat myself up to much about it.
