I told you all it could be done.
Thread 52484
Today it is done.
Follow my advice and you too can do it.
Well done DragonFire. You seem to have played more than your fair share of cheaters, so I'm glad you picked up some points from one (Steve66).
In this game: Game 3135409. I think White should have tried 16.f4 as Black's win isn't that easy to find. It's got to be better than resigning anyway!

Originally posted by vipiuThere's an absolutely huge variation between over the board rating and RHP rating. I am 173 ECF in OTB play, which is about 2100 ELO. I am a long way from becoming an FM and I doubt very much if I will ever make it. Most FMs I know are at least 200 ECF (2250 ELO).
question for you, guys, who are trying to get 2000 on RHP:
are you about FM strength(2300) in real life OTB ?
I know of one English player here who has a RHP rating of more than 2000 but an OTB ECF grade of less than 100! (1750 ELO).
Originally posted by vipiutalk about it. I have performed +2200 in last two national tournaments I have played and i am just 1500 RHP.
probably some are...
As long as I play in my first OTB tournament and my rating performance after 5 games is ELO 2100+ and I am about 1700+ on RHP, I thought a 2000+ rhp has high chances to be a FM.
Originally posted by Fat LadyI do not claim credit for this game. Black was none other than Emmanuel Lasker.

but I get the rating points anyway. 😉
Edit: Of course this sort of win shows exactly why there is a difference in correspondence grades and OTB grades. OTB my grade has been as high as 2170 but that was a long time ago. In the last 10 years the highest it has been OTB is 1975.
Originally posted by Diet CokeThey changed the conversion formula a few years ago. It used to be
I thought 100 was 1400.😕
ELO = 600 + 8*ECF
But now it's
ELO = 1250 + 5*ECF for ECF < 216 and the old formula for ECF >= 216.
I was very pleased because I'd always wanted to be over 2000 ELO, and I only made it for one season (when I was 180 ECF). Now I can clear 2000 with ease at is only 150 ECF.
Edit: Fixed the formula after mistake was pointed out by DragonFire
To the two guys who said they were 2100+ in their national tournaments - I'd just like to say that, without wishing to be rude, I don't think either of you are anywhere near that strength based on your RHP games.
