In a children's tournament recently, I saw a position that arose in one of the games: all the pawns were gone, sitting there like defeated, battle-scarred, forlorn foot-soldiers off the board, and all the pieces were back on their original starting squares. I guess that's a way not to improve your chess. I've never seen anything like it before.

Well, following that rule, you might resign at the very first move. So what, you will lose some games but at least you'll build right mental principles and thinking processes.
