i will see if i improve by the new style i play with. if it is anything like football, a quarterback throws an interception when he tries to "force" it, and he should just be patient and take what the defense gives him.

playing what feels natural to you probably works best, and there's examples of great players for any style. from the crazy tactical attacks of morphy to the defensive karpov.

but as a rule of thumb: be passive, and the big bad wolf will swallow you whole.
