Bit surprised to find out the Humphrey Bogart was quite a strong amateur chess player.

einstein played a bit.
i have an old photograph of him playing my great grandfather.
you can't really make out the board, unfortunately, so you can't see who's winning.

Here is a position from a Bogart game:

Bogart-Anon USA 1935.

It is White to move and win.
Obtained from the book "Find the Checkmate" by Gary Lane - I recommend it.

What line of work was your great grandfather in? Have you posted this photo anywhere on the Internet?

I played Chris Meloni of TV Fame.
He sometimes pops in at the Chess club I frequent. I didnt recognize him until later. He's about 1500-1600. Not a total patzer, about club strengh.
