Did it ever occur to you, and the rest of you TO-happy people, that the person might have real life issues that enable them to get online?

I'm not criticizing your choice to time out, I'm just sayin'....

Mmmmmmmmmmm... ..skulls! Crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Deeeeeeelicious. I love those things. 😛

Tell you what, give me your details, log out, and I'll time him out for you. The mods needn't know, this post is invisible.

tough luck. That's what the timebank is for. Also, you have vacation settings. And if your connection is consistently bad, whos fault is it?

I'm a little ashamed of this game. I played horribly, like really really really horribly, and he was so much lower rated than me, so when I got the chance I timed him out.
doo00OOOD that win by timeout was awesome, I'd a had an orgasm clicking on the skull in that position.

That should have been a awarded as a draw, not a win to White, according to the FIDE rules of chess

Except where Articles 5.1 or one of the Articles 5.2 (a), (b) and (c) apply, if a player does not complete the prescribed number of moves in the allotted time, the game is lost by the player. However, the game is drawn, if the position is such that the opponent cannot checkmate the player`s king by any possible series of legal moves, even with the most unskilled counterplay.

Fair point - personally I find my brain switches off when I've won the first time. I won't take back moves myself either - I used to and I'm sure I'm a worse player for it.
Absolutely - when you have won, its really hard to recover from suddenly having to win it again. Post game analysis is hard enough!

Surely your opponent learns something from being timed out - to play within the time limits.

I only click skulls in tournaments and clan games. The other games are purely for fun. Plus I won't timeout if they had the opportunity to do it to me and I had the opportunity to do it to them and neither of use will take it.

The thing is there is no prescribed number of moves so that rule can't apply in this instance.

The prescribed number of moves in this instance would be the remaining moves of the game within the allowed time control. He is right, it should have been a draw.

Time bank can run out, non-sub scum don't have the vacation option, and many things can cause a bad connection, 'tis not the persons fault...
