Good opening, don't play Qa4 not a good move. g6 was better. h6 shouldn't have been played weakens your position. Other than that you played a good game. Keep it up and you can reach much higher than 1200.

with Qa4 i put, he had to move his pawn thus weakening his kingside. but yeah in hind sight g6 was better then h6.

I tend to agree with this asessment although white was OK until that last Q move and I wouldn't have been uncomfortable playing his position prior to that.

Qh4 really just lost a tempo and g3 wasn't seriously weakening for white, especially not with that extra tempo. Look at the K-side P structure in some KGA games for white in main line GM play and you will see how white can get away with apparently serious weaknesses due to other more dangerous attacking compensation.

Unfortunately as happens in so many sub 1200 games the win is had by the last side but 1 to blunder and its often just a question of biding your time and waiting for that mistake. Mind you, you can be too cautious. I have lost many a game OTB against "weak" opponents simply because being lazy I did exactly that but they didn't make the mistake and I drifted into a worse position. It is often said that attack is the best form of defense.
