RahimK, the use of 101 (as a Uni reference, rather than the room in 1984, or any spin-off tv shows etc) is to imply that whatever is being referred to is the most basic instruction. At least when I was at uni any 101 class was the very first course you'd do in an area.
It's just annoying.
Even the news people on tv, Today's high is 11 and that's weather 101 for you. They think they are so cool saying this 101 and that 101 on tv.
