I just won a very sharp game playing black in the Chinese Variation (5. g4) of the Pirc defense:
Game 1828192
I don't think my setup was particularly solid, though, so I'd like to ask for some comments on the game: do you see any improvements for my opponent that could have put me in a bad situation? Should I have played differently at some point?
I think 11. e5 instead of 11. f4 is worth a try, but I haven't analyzed it. What do you think?
Originally posted by Balla88I meant 11. Nf3 Bg4; how does that lose material? I thought of Nh7, but I think it's way too slow and artificial. The knight is much more active on f6 - after 11. Nf3 Nh7 he could just retreat his bishop to e3 with some serious threats.
a5 is pretty good, he then should move e5 or could still do Nf3. Bg4 would be a mistake as that would give him a material edge. Did yout think about 11 ... Nh7?
Originally posted by RahimKThanks, that was an interesting read.
I though Michas should have 0-0-0 first before starting the attack on your king. Don't got much time but this might help you. This is for different moves but the ideas are similar.
