I can`t see what the problem is. You can only go so far with an openings book or data base. You`re very quickly in new territory.

Thanks for all the replies. It's interesting to see how this is perceived by RHP members. Looks like there will continue to be a dichotomy here between correspondence players (researchers) and live pl ...[text shortened]... bit chess research during the ensuing matches. Until then, it's a correspondence chess site.
It would be impossible to do this on a corresondence site.

Exactly what kind of chess did you expect to find on a correspondence chess site? Blitz?

Try this chess site: http://www.milo.cc/hb2/bunny12.jpg

it says when you join.. I think the site is new and still under development.. and for free what more do you want..
And who the hell are you to tell me to leave. If you was anybody you'd delete my account..
If you dont like the site dont join.. simple as that dont attack me.

The site was probably created by an ex rhp user after one of your henchmen told him to go design your own site if you dont like this one..

You're right it does say when you try to join. Why anyone would though is beyond me.

I'm telling you to leave because obviously you aren't happy here. So unhappy in fact you break the TOS by advertising another correspondance site on the forums. Accounts don't get deleted here anyway.

Well then it might be a good idea to learn to live with the fact that people here use opening books and databases.

Something he doesn't seem capable of doing, sadly.

It seems to me that internet chess is very different than correspondence chess. It has just as many, if not more similarities to live chess.
...[text shortened]... that way our better chess players would also be recognized - not just the best game researchers.
A non book tournament is un-enforceable. I don't use a book but im sure i play 10 book moves on occasion anyway, how would you be able to tell who was using a book and who was using their head??

We can only speculate as to who the best "live" chess players are here until a suitable tournament format is setup to prohibit chess research during the ensuing matches. Until then, it's a correspondence chess site.
You're talking about different games with different rules.

It'd be like saying that we'll never find out who the best high jumper is amongst the pole vaulters until we set up a "proper" tournament with no pole.

From the RHP home page ....

" Play online correspondence chess through a feature-rich, browser interface against your friends or existing members. " ...

Go someplace else if you want " live " chess.
