To challenge random opponents without looking at their rating, in that way you can avoid underestimation or opposite. Because I play worse against weaker opponents, I just can help myself, I have no problem with opponents of my level but I become paranoic when I have to play 1700-1800 player, I feel like he will punish every single move I make.
Is it right idea to play in the same style no matter how elevated is my opponent rating?

I mean, not develop 2 pieces and try mating attack right away (which can be succesfull very often) when I play against 1200-1400 and no passive paranoic playing prived of any energy or initiative if you are playing 1800.

how do you handle it?

When you play a 1200-1300 just play good solid chess - the correct moves in your usual openings.
You don't need to go for cheapo mates as they will soon give away pieces and allow a safe pretty combination or fall into a standard opening trap.

P.S. I do the same sometimes when I am playing unfamiliar lines (i.e. I fall into standard opening traps and lose quickly).

the best is to play stronger opponents. it makes you try a lot harder. which translates into learning more.

Remember no matter how good someone is, if you make a solid move you need not worry about them punishing it-a GM cannot do the impossible and punish good play, so have a little belief. That will get you a long way, having a little confidence.

Look for traps. Traps are fun to set, like my 8th move in this game. Game 3325409

some people do find ratings psychologically distracting. i think ouroboros has a script that hides ratings, if you have a look through the developers' forum.
