Honestly, people talk bad about Bobby Fischer - indisputably the 11th World Chess Champion - but now that we have the Russian and Bulgarian bozo up there on stage, why don't we - for once more - remember the Fischer of sportsmanship, unlimited Will to Win and infinite passion for the game that we all love. Please, a moment of silence for 1972 and the American World Chess Champion! Here's to my crazy genius Bobby! I love you!

Fischer is hardly a decent role model either though is he?
    From Wikipedia:

He has denied the "Holocaust of the Jews," has announced his desire to make "expos[ing] the Jews for the criminals they are [...] the murderers they are" his lifework, and has argued that the United States is "a farce controlled by dirty, hook-nosed, circumcised Jew bastards." In the September 12, 2001, interview with Pablo Mercado, Fischer expressed the hope that after a coup d'état in the U.S., the military would "close down all the synagogues, arrest all the Jews, execute hundreds of thousands of Jewish ringleaders, and, you know, apologize to the Arabs, kill off all the Jews over there in the bandit state of Israel."

Having just read about the Fischer-Spassky match, in my honest opinion, Fischer should never have been world champion.

Spassky should've walked away before game three, with the title firmly in his hand.

The bravest player I've ever seen is Rashid Nezhmetdinov. Some of his sacrifices are just astonishing.

Here are some of his games involving queen sacrifices:

The second one in particular is just crazy! No-one except him would play 12.Qxf6
