Hello All,
Perhaps another post within the "best player ever" series posts brought this to mind. Is it true that Kramnik will not play for the title because he is trying to be something other than competitive. I don't know what to label him as: stingy, scared, snobby, strict, normal? Does anyone else have more information on Kramnik's attitude when it comes to playing for the World Title? Secondly, what happened with the 128-Knockout winner playing Kasparov and Kramnik playing Leko leading to the 2 finalists playing each other for the world title? Lastly, why did all the high rated GMs like V. Anand not play in the 128 player knockout tournament?

Apparently, the World Championship match between Topalov and Kramnik may happen; 12 games, starting Sept. 21. But I'll only believe it when I see it.

When Toppy does that, then I'll consider him a true champion. The key thing about matches is that you constantly have to improve/adjust to your opponents style, the more versatile/creative person at the board should win. Having one improvement that your fritz came up with after 20 weeks of analysis doesn't cut it anymore.
