You mean the double fianchetto? How could that happen with 1...a6?

I'll let you know what i think when it is all done. just remind me, it might be worth it since it is my main weapon against d4, same as my coaches.

In the hippo, a6 and h6 are played. look at my game against chessisvanity to see it.

Main weapon? I guess at 1300 it doesn't matter, but it's definitely not the most sound opening.

yea, but it gets people outta book early. gets people to play chess with me, not a memorization contest. (which i'd probably win anyways cause my memory is great, but i dont like to play that way) I also play the Grunfeld, so i do play your "sound" openings too.

That's the creepy crawly. The hippo is a double fianchetto.

They aren't my sound openings, but they are more sound anyway. I'm not saying the polish is bad, I'm just saying I think there are easier ways to win.

Never read it, IDK, the link says otherwise.

it doesn't really matter anyways. but seriously, i love the polish. its a lot of fun. i played it in a game 30 against someone who had obviously never seen it before. he took 4 minutes for his next move. he was down to less than 4 minutes on his clock by move 13

He obviously didn't know fundamentals. People like that need to read up a bit. Obviously he should take the center with move two.

yea. he gets in time trouble a lot and i knew that about him. but he does know his openings pretty well. so i just got him outta book early, move 2.

I think you mean he knows a lot of opening lines, clearly he does not know openings well at all, if he doesn't know that the first thing to do is attempt to control the center.

BTW, that's move one. 😉

yea, that is what i meant. i played him again and the second time i played the grunfeld against him, but i played an uncommon line and he ran into time trouble again. strange that somehow he is rated over 1600 USCF

eh. my move 1, his move 2
