I would like to know more about English jargon in chess.

Like "a hog on the seventh" means that a rook is placed on the 7th row in the enemy ground.
A "patzer" is a beginner, or is it a beginner who thinks he is in a higher class that he actually is? "Play like a patzer" is to play badly.
"Eating wood" is to take a lot of the opponents pieces and he is not.

Please, teach me more!

Not exactly English, but "Two Jans" is comedy slang for a Bishop pair.
