As far as I can see, you degraded this conversations with comments like: "Are you drunk or something?" "Are you communist or something?" "Next time take your medication..."
I loath people who cannot carry out a decent conversation and have to resort to insulting ones character.
- "This is just typical of chess politics!"
- "The governing body is chaired by a flipping dictator for crying out loud!!!"
- "This game is so corrupt it's just pathetic, i despair!!"
Can you show me any chess magazine/article or column which substantiates those words? If you post insults to the chess community expect to be repaid in kind.

Are you drunk or something? Which other sport has the president dipping into his own pocket to provide for the prize-fund i.e. in the candidates matches how much is coming from where? Compare that to boxing or football. Don't open your mouth to utter unsubstantiated nonsense.
No matter how much money Kirsan will throw at the chess board, he is still a fool,
also the fact that he lets his own people starve, and make critical journalists dissapear once in a while isnt really winning me over,
I dont think the person you adressed isnt drunk at all. In fact I think he or she has quite a good point.
Originally posted by MarinkatombI think (and I`m not alone in this opinion) that FIDE did wrong creating rules which allowed Botvinnik to play rematches (After Botvinnik - Tal rematch FIDE understood its mistake and canceled that rule. Then renewed (Kasparov - Karpov rematch in 1986) and canceled again ). Also right of rematch was given to world champion (which Topalov never was) not pretendent.
So when Bottvinik lost to Tal he shouldn't have been given another shot? He was allowed a rematch, why not Topalov? If Topalov doesn't play in this cycle, what about the next, or the next... Anand lost to Kasparov, why is he in it? He's had his chance, why is he getting another? What about Leko also...
Excluding him for one cycle makes no sense. So h ...[text shortened]... cup final, but France will be in the next World cup, why should it be different for Topalov?
Match Kramnik-Topalov (as both of them agreed in contract) was part of the same cycle as candidate matches which is going now. So Topalov will have to wait until next cycle. Why does Topalov should be given extra chance in this cycle if he had been kicked from it once?
Originally posted by KorchI would think that barring the runner-up in the championship match from participating in the next championship cycle is simply a bizarre and almost cruel stipulation. But because it's Topalov... 😉

I wonder whose brilliant idea that was.
I can see why he was not guaranteed a rematch, but I don't understand why he was not invited to play in the Candidate matches. His rating is high enough.
Originally posted by YugaIf its such "bizarre" why did Topalov signed such a contract? I dont think that Danailov is honest man but he is not definetly not fool and they agreed to such terms only becayse he and Topalov were 100% sure about Topalov`s win. And now when they did lost these contract is not valid anymore??? So i think that they got what they deserves. I`m pretty sure, that If Topalov would win then Topalov/Danailov would be against participation of Kramnik in candidates matches.

(Edit: Was Topalov invited to play in the Candidate matches? His rating is high enough. I'm presuming he wasn't based on your comment and if I understood the stipulation correctly.)
Originally posted by KorchI agree with you. I simultaneously thought that Topalov and Kramnik actually agreed to a contract stating that the loser could not play in the Candidate matches and also that the contract simply guaranteed the loser a rematch. Whether the contract ever guaranteed a rematch I do not know, but for some reason I was under that illusion. And I just couldn't easily see the logic in "barring the runner-up in the championship match from participating in the next championship cycle" and managed to confuse myself into thinking that there was no way that such a contract could have happened by the time I finished my post. 😞🙄

To me, such a stipulation would be similar to France being barred from the next World Cup in football because they got second place.
Yes, now I do understand why Topalov isn't playing in the Candidate matches. I think I need to lie down and 😴 .

Unless you do not know what contracts are about, who signed the contract and why? Do you know about the Prague agreement etc etc?

At the end of the day, all that remain are these facts:
*FIDE is one of the most corrupt sports organisations in the world
*Because of the above statement, they never were able to establish a format for the World Championship through the last 20 years that everybody could agree on and back up. This is possible in almost any other sport (Boxing is one of those sports being even more chaotic than chess!)...
*Topalov (or to be more precise: Danailov) is a fool. Their behaviour last year was ridiculous and now they try to alter things...
*Anyone creating a contract that would leave out the worlds #2 from next years championships are not sane!
*Anyone signing a contract that would leave out the worlds #2 from next years championships are definitely insane!

EDIT: Ok Ali wasn't banned for 10 years, i was wrong (my memory is patchy, what can i say) but with that said i'm not going to spend hours trawling the Internet to prove something to a troll, that's what he wants! I'll give my time up freely to help someone but i have learn't to ignore people when they're simply seeking to wind me up, as Zoot clearly is. Notice that he didn't attempt to give a reason for this ruling (why Topalov/Kramnik were asked to sign this agreement in the first place). The reason is that it has NO good reason. There you go, perhaps that's a bit more polite...😛
