Oh right, so when Coca Cola sponsor the World Cup, do they take control of FIFA? I don't think so!! That is off topic though, I'll happily loath Ilyumzhinov quitely if you like, but this thing with Topalov is ridiculous. Why isn't he allowed to participate? He is more worthy than a heap of the other participants. He can beat them all on his day, he is ranked second in the World behind Anand (ahead of Kramnik in 3rd) he deserves to play, this thing doesn't come around every year, he has trained his whole life to become WC and now they won't let him compete?????? That's shameful!

If the other participants can't beat him in the qualification then they don't deserve to play in the final either. It's the law of the jungle man, the cream rises to the top. Why would they want to stop one of the absolute best players in the World from entering The World Championship, it makes no sense...

Are you a communist or something with an agenda against Ilyumzhinov? If this was Kramnik in this situation do you think that Topalov/Danailov/Marinkatomb would give a toss? What is the purpose of signing an agreement? Where were the Bulgarian CF when he signed it? Where were you?

What? Now i'm a communist? Are you insane? I have strong opinions yes, but please don't seek to put words in my mouth, i'd defend Kramnik just as strongly! Why would FIDE seek to exclude the second highest graded player in the World? (Or the third for that matter?) How does this help chess? It simply weakens the tournament!! That is stupid, it is the highest achievement in chess, it should include the strongest players and Topalov is one of the best!! If you can give me one good reason why that contract was written in the first place i'll respect it but from where i'm sitting there is no good reason for such an agreement.

It makes sense because one of the absolute best players have already lost match to world champion which means that he is not the best. Also according to contract he have signed he must not play in candidates matches and tournament.

FIDE have given him his chance - he did not use it - so its others turn to take chance become world champion.

So: giving Topalov extra chance would be 1) unlawful; 2) unhonest;

Can you substantiate your claims as you appear to be seriously deluded:-

- "This is just typical of chess politics!"

- "The governing body is chaired by a flipping dictator for crying out loud!!!"

- "This game is so corrupt it's just pathetic, i despair!!"

If you have seen any chess article or newspaper columns can you give us a link as it is unclear where you get your information from.

So when Bottvinik lost to Tal he shouldn't have been given another shot? He was allowed a rematch, why not Topalov? If Topalov doesn't play in this cycle, what about the next, or the next... Anand lost to Kasparov, why is he in it? He's had his chance, why is he getting another? What about Leko also...

Excluding him for one cycle makes no sense. So he lost the last match, Italy beat France in the World cup final, but France will be in the next World cup, why should it be different for Topalov?

If this was in the contract, that there was supposed to be a rematch, then the fact that there was no rematch should void the contract... right?

I wouldn't sign anything so silly to begin with. tsk tsk to both players.

You are the one wasting your time as well as everybody else's. Go read what has been going on in chess for the last couple of years. If you have articles documenting your rambling you are free to point them out. Do not introduce General Forum type hysteria here.

As far as I can see, you degraded this conversations with comments like: "Are you drunk or something?" "Are you communist or something?" "Next time take your medication..."

I loath people who cannot carry out a decent conversation and have to resort to insulting ones character.
