True, 2.Nf3 is an underrated move in the kings gambit kinda like the Carolina panthers eh? 😉

That's what I thought but I wanted to see if you possibly had a deeper reason. In that position Ng5 is not a threat. Just castles and if Ng5 we play Bxc4 and we're winning fairly easily.
