do you ever get into a game not make a move for a few days and completely forget what you were going to do and end up messing up.

If there's some game moving really slow, I try to take a short glance over the position once in a while. just to keep those plans in memory. if/when I forget to do that, I try to take some time to just think about the position, before thinking about the next move. it's really frustrating when you remember you had a better plan, usually right after having moved... haste makes waste.

if you use notebook, make sure you're not accidentally writing into 'message your opponent.' it is known to happen. 🙂
