Moving too fast too quickly........

Why do Players move so fast? like last night I was playing a standard 36 minutes on Fics
the guy I was playing was moving really really fast banging his pieces down like it was a lightning game 12 moves into he blunders and loses his Bishop gets mad and disconnects 🙁

1. e4 e6 2. Nc3 Ne7 3. Nf3 Ng6 4. d4 d6 5. Be3 Nd7 6. Bd3 Nb6 7. O-O Bd7 8. Qd2

They're jerks. I play 10 min + 10 sec on Playchess. On more than one occasion I had people claiming engine use because of the time I used. I don’t hover the mouse over a piece and I spend a few seconds looking at my moves so usually end up with 2-3 min. left while my opponents often have 12-15 left. It should be obvious when you’re spending 0-5 seconds a move, especially in the middle or end game, you’re going to make a lot of mistakes. The last time it happened I got cussed out in German.

I see this periodically on Playchess, but more often than not, BOTH players are playing fast. They pick a 30 minute time control and play like it's a 5 minute game. I don't get it either, lol. I guess 93confirmed is right.

It irks me when somebody accepts a game, plays 5 moves and offers a draw. When I refuse they disconnect. It’s usually the rating challenged players that do it. I assume they’re looking for a couple free points.
