Now you see why I told you to cut down your games. What is the point of winning 1001 games and losing 1000 when you could have taken a smaller load and converted more wins and played better chess? One step forward and two back?
242 in progress as of this post. Spreading yourself a bit thin there DD. At least you are getting your money's worth out of your subscription 🙂. I notice the quality of my play go down dramitically if I go over 16-20 games. The problem is that with only 16 games, sometimes I wait for days to have something to do...but there's always the forums.
I'm not sure I could stay even over 1500 with hundreds of games... sometimes I get the urge of trying it for a while, just to see how I would do, but at the same time I know I couldn't bear the thought of letting games just slip away for careless blunders. I can hardly deal with my mistakes as it is. -it would all end up into a massive burnout, and possibly stopping chess completely.
on the other hand, it could possibly be quite therapeutic to let it all burn down.

There is a direct correlation between my ranking and number of games.
Around 20 games going I play to 1400+, over 35 games I play at 1200-.
I want to get in the 1500-1600 range in the next few months. So I need to keep my load down (so difficult).
Plus I like to play so it stinks when I do not get to make moves.
Originally posted by MoneyMaker7I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. People should play the number of games that they are comfortable with. For me, that number is 16-20, any more and I notice a decline in my standard of play. Some can play many more, and some are content with 6. In this thread, some of us are simply commenting that his current game load seems to be negatively affecting DutchDefense's play.
Well all the top players play quite a few number of games and only one player in the top 100 has made over 1000 moves this month, some of them less than 100 moves.
I've played Dutch Defense a few times & he's blatantly a 1600+.
I also have to agree with z00troll on this one.
For instance, here's a typically tactics-heavy tussle which was great fun - Dutch blitzing his moves as usual, me spending between 1-5 minutes on mine:
King's Gambit - Falkbeer Counter
Game 3521431
Originally posted by MoneyMaker7I play 20 games, about 10 3/14 and 10 7/14...and have less than 1 day timebank left in almost all of them. How can you play 100 games?! Can you really remember what you're doing in all of them? I'd have to be on almost 6-8 hours everyday to do that 😲
I don't get it. How can you only play 20 games at once? I play about 100 games all the time and I don't go under 1200 or anything. How long do you take for each move?
This month was actually my record though: 300+ moves. I think I was on almost everyday. Kinda sucked really. Had schoolwork I procrastinated that required computer and played chess instead 😛
