I beat a player that was 600 rating points better than I am. He was really whoopin' my ass, but I think he got greedy.

Anyway... Maybe he thought that you were his customer and that you were about to resign quickly....
Well done
Originally posted by CliffLandinWas it really your best win? Your opponent made an appalling blunder by failing to spot your mating attack. You played well to be able to take advantage of his blunder so devastatingly, but he could have defended easily a couple of different ways. If he had defended it, then you were in a hopeless position.

Sorry, I'm not trying to rain on your parade. You did great to beat a player ranked so highly above you.
This, Game 762065, is my best game on here, even though my opponent wasn't rated higher than me. It was a tactical monster, with no clear blunders (IMO. White could have escaped at the end, but for what purpose?). Sure there are a couple of miscalculations, and slight mistakes (like my opponents choice to exchange the rooks), but no piece got desperately hung. There were also many stalemate pitfalls up to about move 70.

And Ragnarok is right, the game isn't that great. I mean it's a win but it was pretty shocking in parts. I don't know which game I would choose as my best. However I have a feeling that I may have a clear choice when a certain game finishes. So far two long term sacs (well I'm going to call them sacs), of course if I lose then it won't be so spiffy.
Here's a game of mine with a good but frustrating finish for black. Mate is threatened and he has a full turn but nothing to do to defend it. Also notice that the previous move of check was neccessary to force the mate. Game 924986
Okay, this is my best win. My intimidating opening moved paralyzed my opponent with fear.

Actually, I disagree. You were premature with that attack on the centre while weakening your defence. Unfortunately, black did not exploit this and resigned. He/she clearly had a won game. 😉
