I've never even gotten past a single round in any tournament...whether banded our open, and I'm now on track to win the Autum 1300-1399 tournament.
Well, I would be if it wasn't for a 1600 player who timed out of 25 straight games before joining the 1300-1399 banded tournament.
I shall consider it MY victory nonetheless.
BTW, when I first complained about "Banded Tournament Cheats" it wasn't about this tournament. It was in a mini-band 1350-1399 torunament I joined where in the first round I faced a 1800 AND a 2000 players who likewise did the "time out a bunch of games and the beat up on the weaklings" approach.

Well, I looked up the tourney and Cabbage is also still able to finish second.
Then since your top rating was 1490 lately, I don't know if some would count it at least not very convincing if you are whinninh´g about too strong palyers....

Then there's alwaysup, 10 games left. With a max 30pts he can get 67 points . I think Mike Mlynski needs to win only 4 games out of 12 to assure his tournament win. You, nonnymoose, have three games left, and you can only max out at 55 points.

You have a legit complaint about Mike Mlynski. But it is somewhat arrogant to claim a tournament win when there are still a lot of games outstanding, especially when there are two other players at your level that can outpace you in the tourney. Come back here when you've actually won something free and clear.
Well said!!! Here-here!! Take notes mate; your intentions were maybe legit but your way of doing so certainly was NOT! Never, ever count your chickens before they hatch. Same in chess, never talk about a result before it ends. No allusions, no mimics, no sighs of relieve. Too many players have very bad "boardmanners" and this gives chess a bad reputation. This said, congrats are your excellent play. Good day, and please no hard feelings, Mike2119.

This was a second attempt to draw attention to the issue....if not from a "rules" sake, then to at least appeal for "fair play" by choice.
All the thumps I'm getting for declaring "victory" are well deserved. I may or may not "win". The point is, that none of the true 1300-1399 players are going to get a chance to win because a 1600 player who timed out 25 straight games decided to "steal candy from babies".
And this baby is crying about it 🙂
