@contenchess saidWe will see if 2018 repeats itself... (even if there won't be agreed draws below 40 moves. But we all know how to circumvent that.)
Only a month or so away for the World Championship.
I can't wait. Finally an exciting match...I hope 😔
@gambrel saidNakamura cried when Magnus beat him.
Magnus is accurate, but Nepo is imaginative. My favorite modern male GM is Nakamura. His bizarre tactics talk to me.
My cat talk to me too, so it's a common occurance.
The weak shall be food for the strong!!
@contenchess saidWhen I first started playing at the club, my former gf's brother was a member, he challenged me to a match 40/2, one game a week, best of 6
Nakamura cried when Magnus beat him.

The first game I drew black, he played The Polish and got mauled. He cried, I was like, dude, it's just a game. He ended up winning the match 3-2-1. I laughed when I lost, tipped my king, signed the score sheet, got drunk. I had his number after that first match though.
@schlecter saidAt the moment you get better odds on Nepo.
.... My money on Nepo
Carlsen is 11-50 (bet £1.00 and get £1.22 back - your stake + 22p profit.)
Nepo is 3-1 (bet £1.00 you get £4.00 back - your stake + £3.00 profit.)
So it is worth putting £5.00 on Nepo. = £15.00 profit (This what I am going to do)
To get the same profit from betting on Carlsen you would have to bet £68.00

@contenchess saidI'll go out on a limb and predict Nepo will win. He has a good record against Carlsen.

These 2 young veterans in their prime should make for an interesting match. 🙂
