I felt I could/should have won this game. to my opp's credit he never gave up and found some tactic to save a draw.

1. d4 d5 2. Nf3 c6 3. g3 Bf5 4. Bg2 Nf6 5. O-O Nbd7 6. Re1 e6 7. Nc3
{the difference between Nbd2 and Nc3 is that the text doesn't block the c1 bishop}
7...h6 {giving my bishop h7 should white play Nh4} 8. Bf4 Be7 9. Ne5 {apparently
preparing e4} 9...O-O 10. e4 dxe4 11. Nxd7 Qxd7 12. Nxe4 Nxe4 13. Bxe4 Bxe4 14.Rxe4 {after mass exchanges on e4 the game is pretty much even. the bishops are on same colour which indicates that there's still something to play for} 14...Rad8 15. c3 c5 16. Qc2 Qc6 17. dxc5 Bxc5 18. Rae1 Rd5 {i want to double rooks - d5 or d7, same story.} 19. Qc1 Rfd8 {continuing the plan of doubling rooks. i noticed my opp previous move and thought i had the perfect answer} 20. Bxh6 {
as expected} 20...Rd1 {bang - this should be outright winning! at least that's what
i thought when i played it} 21. Qg5 {hoping to mate me which is a little naive
and now the bishop cannot leave h6} 21...Bf8 22. R4e3 R8d2 {considered e5 instead - to win their bishop.} 23. Qg4 {liberating their bishop} 23...Rxe1+ {i felt
comfortable because the queenside pawns can be picked now} 24. Rxe1 Rxb2 25.
Be3 Rxa2 26. Bd4 {i am clearly better here, no?} 26...a5 27. h4 a4 28. h5 {was it a mistake to ignore the h6 threat? now i had to pay attention to their attack and play } 28...e5 29. Bxe5 a3 30. Qd1 {i'm in the driving seat here. to me this was already won and i made the classical mistake of ignoring my opponents intentions} 30...Qc4 31. h6 {damned! only now I realized what he had in mind} 31...gxh6 32. Bf6 {he has caught me in a perpetual check!} 32...Rb2 33. Re8 Qc5 34. Qg4+ {we agreed on a draw}
