Nigel Short plays on the ICC network, no Red Hot Pawn. When he logs on, it says Welcome Grandmaster blah blah blah... or "shhh! Grandmaster so and so is playing in so and so numbered room with International Master so and so... I've played there. But, that's where the really strong grandmasters play online if they ever do play online. I've also heard Karpov plays speed chess on there, blitz, and his pieces always seem to land on the perfect squares. He's devastatingly strong! I advise not worrying about grandmasters. It's usesless to play them if you're rated beneath a 1800 A Class player. Even 1800s have no comprehension of the power behind the piece when someone like Karpov or Kasparov is wielding it. 🙂
