I think Magnus gets a little contemptuous of anybody rated below 2750, his play gets very sloppy at times, and sometimes he pays for it, as the Nepo game shows.

He was in poor position, almost lost against Michael Adams too, but he got whole point... Against Nakamura he saved lost position.
From three lost positions, he earned 1.5 points.
One can say - one can recognize Champion by that!
Or - he lost stamina and elan after he'd defeated Karyakin.

it was reported that Magnus was suffering from a "head cold" when he played Nepo..Commentator GM Maurice Ashley had a hard time as Aronian told him on camera.."I'm a great player and your not" .. Magnus clearly doesn't like him as he told him "don't touch me!"..and "what do you expect from me?"
