of this thread like the last one by people with unsavory agendas.
So all genuine OTB chess players please consider joining OTB Chess Players Club 75.
Because our players currently play or have played OTB we aim to ensure we do not have any non humans on board by arranging meet ups where ever possible so we can see who our members are.
Already OTB Chess Players (the clan not the club) has arranged a meet up between Fareham and Ealing which was attended by Dragon Fire, Sicilian Smaug, tapestry, chopin, Mahout and hijbenkobe amoung others and more meet ups are planned. A number of other club members have met and played including Fat Lady, scottcrockett, pjreeves and steve ch355 so we have high levels of confidence on all these players.
We will not accept players who have suspect graphs and sudden rises in ratings nor any of a number of other attributes that our members decide are suspicious. Members who sandbag are also frowned upon and sudden drops in ratings without adequate explainations are also disapproved of. If this means a genuine player is rejected we must apologise in advance but feel free to reapply later when the suspicions that gave rise to your initial rejection have disappeared.
We already have 51 members most of whom I am 99% confident are genuine and some of these are salwarts of the RHP chess community. More genuine players of all levels who will welcome an opportunity to meet up if the opportunity presents itself will be welcomed into the club.
Of course we recognise that some players have stopped playing OTB for a while due perhaps to work considerations or illness and such players will not be able to meet up but please don't let that put you off and if you have ever played OTB or want to in the future OTB Chess Players club is for you.
Naturally playing OTB does not guarantee integrity (we have seen plenty of dishonest attempts in OTB tournaments to win prizes) but it helps. Of course I cannot guarantee everyone that has joined is genuine but in due course we will evict anyone about who a core of club players have doubts irrespective of whether thay have evidence or not as honesty and integrety are our core requirements. We also propose evicting any players deliberately seeking to gain some sort of advantage by sandbagging and any player who makes unfounded allegations against others in the public forums.
Interesting idea, two issues that may arise:
1: Peoples OTB ratings will probably be higher here due to time and analysis boards etc so someone who plays well here but rubbish otb may be seen as not so honest here.
2:It sounds like you have mostly very high standard players which while fun, would not be quite so appealing travelling a long way to get utterly demolished in ten moves 🙂
Other than that, I would possibly be interested but I am moving house this weekend and will be offline for a while plus will most likely be busy for a while

Also, I assume you would play otb then play through the game on here just to make it official, what happens when people make moves here that did not happen in the otb game? Not suggesting people necessarily would, but you might get some who did not like losing and try to play a different game
