What was wrong with just playing d5 and stopping the whole attack on the f7 pawn to begin with?
If there is a refutation to 1.e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4. Ng5 d5....someone please show it to me!
Dave
( who notes this game was lost from that one move! )
EDIT: I am not saying that d5 is refuted here I am just saying that the Attack on f7 is still there.

That would be 9..Qxd6. Pinski gives:
9..Qxd6 10. Nf7 Qc5 11. d3 e4? (Bg4) 12. c3? (b4) Bh4! 13. Be3 Bg4 14. Qa4+ Bd7 15. Nd6+ cxd6 16. Bf7+ Kxf7 17. Qxd4 Qf5+ etc...and black eventually won, but apparently it's unclear.

not in progress anymore...so I have to ask why ...Qf6+?? and not ...Qb6+!...?
I haven't annotated this game due to several other novelties in the Traxler that I'm working on. I'm trying to find the best line (which I think I now have) for white... something that saves the day 😛.
