Could anyone tell me some English opening variants without a fianchetto for White?

After 1 c4 e5, White can basically play any Sicilian setup that he wants, with an extra move. For example, White can play a Kan/Paulsen type setup with 2 e3 3 Nc3 4 b3 5 Bb2 6 Be2, 7 Qc2 etc.

I've played 1. c4 e5 2. Nc3 Nc6 3. Nf3 Nf6 4. d4 which are interesting games, but I believe that Silman has a bust for it on his site which a lower rated player here played against me with success. That said, I still bust it out in blitz.
