38 out of the top 100 rated players are non subscribers
what's up with that?

2 of my friends from my chess club are on here and they say why pay when you can play for free and they are right

If you're cool with only 6 games at a time, why pay?

Maybe it's that if you have only 6 games on the go you actually stop and think about each move. I decide I don't have enough games to play (usually during a holiday) and join a couple of tournaments. Then, when work kicks back in, I find I am making lots of moves very quickly, with an inevitably large number of mistakes.

I wonder whether my rating would be higher if I only had 6 games to play? [Although I still wouldn't trouble the top 100 even then!]

actually, 38 is very good compared with 68 for players ranked between 1000-1100
I wonder what is the ratio of subs to non subs
not that it means anything important, just curious

Not sure this site is as big as it was when I was here before. Seems a lot of non subs and good people I knew all gone. Whether they bored or real life takes over or just go to another site even.

Just wondering, If a non sub has 6 games on the go, and then they are challenged by another player, does that game start, or will it only start when the non sub finishes one of his 6 games? Another thing that bugs me while were on this subject, Is the amount of subs who put in there profile that they won't play non subs. I think it's everyone's choice whether they subscribe or not, and I have no problem playing against either.

You can't challenge a non-sub who already has 6 games in progress.

I presume a non-sub can't enter a tourney if it would raise their game total above six. Correct?
