From Braintwister (not following the actual game) 1. Qh6!! Re8 2. h5 1-0 but i cannot see how that is winning the King can still escape.

    4... Kg8 and I cannot see a forced win.

If this was the position then the Queen sac wins. In the game, I cannot see a forced win.

Rh8 is mate. Unless I'm looking at the wrong position.

    No because of Kxh8

I made the mistake of not putting this on an analyze board and was thinking
basically the same as you. However, I see now that a Rook on h8 is not
protected. So they must have something else in mind.

Now I'm confused as the position you gave was...

    [b]

    ...when the mating attack works.

The bf8 move may be a saving move for black because it looks like it stops
the mating attack. After I have set it up on an analyze board it looks like the
    only move for white is hxg6 Bxh6 4.gxf7+ Kxf7 5.Rxh6 maintaining some
pressure on the King but with no clear win.

I think the braintwister version might be a variation, as this is the actual game, I believe (from chessbase)

Sorry, didn't read before I posted. You already said what I was saying.

    I'm a fool. 😞
