BELATED BIRTHDAY GREETINGS!
Happy birthday (August 23, 1906) to the
oldest active sportsman in the world, ICCM
Zoltan Sarosy of Toronto, still playing
correspondence chess at age 105 !
Sarosy's birthday is 1 week from mine.
And a few! years.
Is he on this site, is what I'd like to know!
Who thinks they're the oldest person playing on RHP? Not me, at 63.

Well Grampy. With your name you may have at least a claim to topping my age.
Unless you're from WVA, where grampas start at age 26.
What is it?
Let's keep going until we get a champ! I hope it's not a woman. They never admit ages.
Remember: be honest. We want the oldest chess player on the site to surface.
Jan, tell them I did not conspire with you on this thread.
By the bye, what's Jan's real age?

Somewhere along the line the old crow flies between West Virginia and Boston... maybe halfway. If it helps, photo
in my profile was taken in CA in 1996. Family and friends tell me I still look and behave pretty much the same.
WVA to Boston? That's a first.
Seriously though, I hadn't looked at your profile before. The Marshall Foch quote struck me, as I had just read it quoted in Shelby Foote's Civil War history yesterday. Deva vu.
I will put up the last known photo taken of me on my profile while this thread is active instead of my chessboard/blackjack combo which my wife took and I love. This new photo has never been on the internet before, so we'll see how long it takes to get on someone's Facebook page! It was taken last year.

WVA was your reference. Boston area my place of birth. Foch quotation is still raisin a conversational ruckus in my
"Chess Quotations" thread. Stop by when you're in the mood for a history lesson or two and some terrific quotes.
