I think we should have this "Only chess" section only for chess stuff...
I hate to come in this section and to see many threads about banning, engine use, cheatting fights between game mods...
I come to this forum section for opening ideas, interesting games, commentaries and debates on chess, improvements ideas, books...
I am starting to miss those fights about a specific opening soundness or not...
Can we move these engine/ban/accusations to another section ? This is not for "Only Chess" !

I see on the first page only now:
Cludi Deciding to Leave
Engine use on RHP
Cheating in RHP blitz!
Public accusation
Second chance
My thoughts on recent engine use allegations
Russ, do you protect people from banning?
I think this is way too much...

The engine threads are [usually] clearly labeled and thus easily avoidable. I also dispute that they are off-topic for this forum. Engine use is a serious issue in the chess world. Even over-the-board tourneys are now forced to deal with this issue.

Originally posted by SebastionSo banning of a player for using a chess engine while playing chess, is not chess related? Perhaps you did not play in these tournaments that were won by someone using an engine, and there fore could care less, but others that have played in those tournaments do care.
I'm a newbie here...but it would be great if "only chess" meant just that. New ideas about the Giuoco Piano? Super. Debate about kicking someone out? I don't care. Take it somewhere else. I don't mean to be rude, but "only chess" should mean something.
Also friendships are made on this site, and it is going to wind up getting discussed sooner or later...Usually there is a heading, just don't bother going into that particular thread, and you don't have to look at it !!
Originally posted by SwissGambitA rec. here too, this is another excellent point. It's funny how people want more chess threads, and more chess improvement threads, but then when they appear it seems like all interest disappears.
