Bowmann I have just returned from a SR Official Tournament to qualify for the SR World Championships. I am happy to report my first place ending with 7.5/8 winning against all opponents while drawing against GM Topov, who went with the Beta Sequence of moves if you know what I mean!!

    You don't fool me!

For your information, GM Gregory Topov, the famous Grandmaster in Stanley Random Chess, retired last year.

Also, it is common knowledge among SR Chess aficionados that GM Topov almost invariably played the Upsilon-Gamma Sequence in competition play.

    Nice try.

The queen's gambit certainly is very solid. But it takes some skill and memorization to be able to get compensation for the pawn if black tries to keep it.

When did Fischer become Stanley? Just play the King's gambit and pray.

Stanley Random Chess (SRC) must not be confused with Fischer Random Chess (FRC).

Stanley Random Chess (SRC) is an earlier form of Simplified Stanley Random Chess (SSRC), otherwise known as Common Chess.

unless black is a super duper uber mensch, keeping the pawn is more trouble than it is worth

and most people i do queen's gambit on(i love this opening too)
decide to do 2...e6 instead of 2...dc4

The Queen's gambit isn't a gambit, there is no way to hold the pawn.

    i've seen such cases

it takes about 10 minutes to memorize 1 line of chess. but there are dozens. chess is not easy, like the poker saying it takes a minute to learn and a lifetime to master, if not more. in my math book i read that there are 484 million different move orders for the first four moves. although many transpose and many are garbage moves it shows how complicated chess can be. but there are however simple opening rules that help you play good openings in chess. winning chess by yasser seirwan adresses these principles.

You could give the Bird (1.f4)a try.Not too much theory and imo it doesn't deserve it's dodgy reputation.

You realize you're responding to a 2 year old post, right?

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone.
