How many known chess openings are there?
And I don't mean possible first moves
Everytime I read one of Greenpawn's blogs there's a new opening I've never heard of!
Are these strangely named openings used much today?
I mean, what's the Falkbeer for pitys sake?
Good blog anyway Geoff

Hi venda,

There are literally 100's of named chess openings and variations.
Maybe someone who has time on their hands can count them.
(and I strongly suspect this list is incomplete.)
