Yes, possibly. 5. e5 looks interesting after that - it looks volatile for both sides, not just for White.

ok....there's 2 period bursts ever now and then and something that says "di takes d8" wtf is this supposed to mean??

I find it so stupid that you say that 3. ...d5 puts black in a defensive position as opposed to accepting the gambit...

I like the Danish Gambit because unless Black realizes that he has to give back material he is in big trouble. I was playing the Danish in a tournament and after 3.c3 he played 3...Qh5. I should have protected my e-pawn with the bishop (not the knight, that ruins the opening) but I panicked and took the pawn on d4 with the Queen and he started attacking it and eventually I lost the game.

Lets see, Danish, good for white?, I wonder?

Black needs to know what they are doing (true!) but this applies even more so for white.

Game 2869490 lost by white in 15 moves.

In his book "Black to Play Classical Defenses and Win", Eric Schiller recommends the "Nordic Variation" against the Danish Gambit: 1 e4 e5 2 d4 ed 3 c3 dc 4 Bc4 cb 5 Bb2 Nh6!?. Black obtains a solid position and is still up two pawns.
