I don't know what is going on but if you are canadian and played in rated games between 2004 to 2006 check your rating!
U2200 category, 1 point per game played.
I just got 47 bonus points and I haven't played since end of Feb.
1881!!! Wow!
No wonder everyones rating looked so high recently, now I know why!

Originally posted by SkorjI couldn't find to much. I recall some chat in our chess newgroup about deflated ratings and people stealing points.
Is there anything that explains what the reason for this is?
Like take me, I take points from others and then stop playing. I have stolen points and if the same # of people continue playing chess those points are gone forever.
When new players join, they introduce new points but maybe less people are joining and more are quiting.

1.e4 e5 drawish.
In the sectionals I played against people +/- 150 point, 6 players it was hard to win with black.
My 1.e4 e5 games kept ending in a draw and I got fed up.
Sicilian is more fierce but tiny mistakes cost you the game.
The Ruy/Two Knights doesn't seem too drawish either.

I keep getting these 2 guys since it's a sectional and they always play the ruy lopez exchange...bah!
And the way I play it ..... drawish. Queens come of the board, some minor pieces come off, get the kings in the center and offer a draw several moves later. Pointless to fight on with black in that position.
Two Knights? People still play that. I don't see any 1800+ playing that recently.
It was the sicilian closed which I am not to familar with. Be a man and play the open sicilian like it was meant to be, geez...
