I played Nxf6 and allowed my opponent .... I really am playing like a gm (grandmother) because I had more than 10 seconds on the clock left.

No No No...

By his own admission he is suffereing from an acute attack of Grandmother Syndrome.

In it's most severe form a player cannot see what to do next so
allows a mate in one.

If he had seen 1.Qxf6+ he would have played it, therfore he missed it.

Instead he allowed Black to mate him. He did not miss it - he allowed it.

You want to make a big fight out of this that outshines the cheating debate?

We have no chance of outshining the 'Cheating Debate.'

At least this thread stays posted,( unless some granmother comes on and objects.)

That thread is tottering on the brink off disappearing into the ether
along with all the other hundreds of threads like it.

I see Squelchbelch has just made a post. That thread can't survive much longer, Fat Lady already has added his bits before too...

It's a phrase coined by Bobby Fischer. ''Patzer sees check, patzer gives check''. This was after he destroyed a beautiful position by giving a needless check. I think I saw it in Seirawan's tactics book.

I should have just played Rf3 and still have enough seconds to stay in the game and possibly win it.

No. You should have played 1.Qxf6+ winning with the Knight fork.

It will feature in a coming Corner under the heading.

The Miss of the Year - The Blunder of Year
(the year being only a few days old).

The fact it was played before 2009 ended and it was a blitz game will be left out.
I'll leave out your name 'cos I don't really like using net nicknames.

Let others benefit from your blunder.
Someone, somewhere will see it and not forget it because of the drastic finish.
They will employ a similiar tactic in one of their own games and thank me.
So I thank you for playing like a grandmother.

(got anymore?)
