I am currently involved in a tournament with one day time controls with no timebank. In one of my games, my opponent is making moves in several games but not in our game Game 4770844. I sent him a message asking him to make a move ASAP.
As a new subscriber to the site, I wanted to ask if it was considered unethical for someone to list themselves as being on vacation while continuing to make moves. From where I sit I think it's obviously wrong. Is there something that can be done in this situation?

I totally concur.
Maybe what is needed is for people on vacation to be unable to time people out.

Edit - off to site ideas
I propose the following:
1.) Players ON vacation CANNOT timeout a game.
2.) IF a player comes BACK from VACATION
THEN the opponent has (n)th timebank acquired before moving
3.) IF the opponent's new TIMEBANK is DEPLETED
THEN the opponent's move time BEGINS
4.) IF the opponents TIME expires
THEN the VACATION player has the right to timeout.
in this way the vacation player cannot abuse his time off, nor can the opponent abuse his invulnerability after the return from vacation (or having found out to late about the return of the opponent)

If you are in holiday mode you can't timeout an opponent.
Once holiday mode is over timeout is available again to both players.
