Games like that encourage me to fight on in scenarios where I too have a material deficit 😀
Black sacrificed pawn for initiative. White had to defend during the whole game and missed tactics in 39th move.
As greenpawn pointed out - these games remind of young Tal & Kasparov making their opponents to solve complicated problems over the board, when they are unable to use engine assistance.

Richard Rapport who plays the 'crap horrid trap.' [anag]
I've no idea what the 'crap horrid trap' is but it sounds like something I should be playing.
Of course these days I hardly keep up with what's happening now.
My nose ...[text shortened]... ist Houdini, who I thought passed away years ago, he's good.
(well so RJ tells me.) 😉
I thought we were friends, now. Did I make you angry? Please message me and explain the reason for this remark - (well so RJ tells me.)

IMO, he would still have at least a draw if he had recaptured the bishop with the rook instead of the knight on move 29. I think I could get a draw in that position even against a grandmaster and I am only a 1500 USCF OTB player. 😏
P.S. I think he must have forgetten the rule to trade pieces when ahead. I would try hard to trade off those rooks.
Thanks Pacifique for Robert Rapport. Got an email today asking me for
piece for a magazine with a 48 hour deadline.
Used a Rapport game as a stand by (all noted up - it's brilliant chess. A joy to do.)
Tonight meeting up with a few strong players, if I can get a recent Scottish game,
which I prefer doing then, I'll use that and Blog the Rapport game.

Is he any relation to Richard Rapport, the 16-year old Hungarian Chess prodigy?
Most people don't know that Simon & Garfunkel were avid chess players. During recording breaks they would play a game or two. In fact, during one of those games they were inspired with the lyrics "I am a rook. I am a pawn island."
