That was nuts! Anyway, I think 30..a4 should have been played. 30. Nxb1?? was pretty bad I think. His light squared bishop was embarassing, stopping his rooks from connecting AND protecting that b-pawn of his. So if you play 30..a4, you keep his bishop there and then follow with Rb8. Also, e5 near the end was pretty bad too.... 😀 but I don't think that one needs to be explained!

lastpawnstanding is good at finding weaknesses. I just finished a game with him where I started with a huge development advantage and TWICE he preempted nasty sacs and crushed me and my less nasty rook sac.

Game 780254

Look at the position on move seven!??! How on god's green earth did I manage to lose from THAT??!! I shoulda saced the light-squared bish when I had the chance. I was going to do so on the very next move, before he forced it off. But really? How is it possible to lose from three pieces developed to none with total control of the center???

So, yea, LPS scares me sometimes :-)

You missed d2 on move 30.

Edit : And on move 41 :-)

Yeah, I thought long and hard over taking the Bishop. I was really trying to simplify to the endgame, and I was worried that the endgame Bishop would be strong enough to hold me off.

The e5 at the end was a desperate attempt to get him to take with his f Pawn, saving my game. He already had a forced mate at that point.

You were blowing him away at the end right up until you took the pawn, must feel gutted to lose that, happenes to everyone though :-)

And finally on move 46:-) And even so, 46...Kxf4 woulds not let you be checkmated.

26 ..... Nb3 wins at least the exchange and pretty much c3 at any time during the move 30's wins as well as d2.

I don't understand. What about 27. Ra7?

I was playing conservative. I wanted to exchange everything off before Queening Pawns while keeping those center Pawns solid, controlling territory. Apparently my endgame needs work.

On Ra2 black has d4. And white should give up the knight to save the queen (Qb2 - c3).

Oh wow. I didn't see that. I really need to work on my tactics.

Man he got you on that little pawn you ate up and you got knight fork indigestion for it....

You should have pushed your passed pawns and watch out for cheapos... It was the simplest plan... Eventually one major piece like the knight might have fallen and you would have mopped the floor with him...

You could have lost a move earlier.
