Yep, sorry, the first one is not that hard though....

And the motif of the last one is `overworked piece`

Here`s the solution to the last one

1...Rxb2 and the queen can`t take it because of a forced mate you should be able to find

    i saw Rxb2 right off to get Q off 3rd rank and nullify Qxg7.....then black Q h3,Rg1 ...Nf3,pxf3...Bxf3+,Rg2 and Qxg2mate.

Hi Dustycat. And the rest of you.

Not a poke at you so don't sulk, I'm having a shot at all clumsy and scatty posters.

    This on it's own....

"saw Rxb2 right off to get Q off 3rd rank and nullify Qxg7.....then black Q
    h3,Rg1 ...Nf3,pxf3...Bxf3+,Rg2 and Qxg2mate."

....is utter gibberish. What are you talking about?

Readers rarely go back through threads so pleae use the diagram
feature and the PGN moving thing. It makes you easily understood.

Swiss Gambit, HeinzKat and Myself sold our souls to the devil
to get this feature added and updated.

It takes but a minute to do.

    Thank you.

I'm not fond of your 1...Rxb2 2.QxB Qh3 because 3.f3 makes it cloudy.

When doing these things and in your games always look at forcing moves
    that require forced replies.

You cannot get more forcing than a Check.
It leaves your opponent with 3 replies.
(thus making it easier for you work out what is going to happen).

    Capture the checking piece.
    Move the King.
    Block the check.

So after you have decided to defelct the the White Queen
    1...Rxb2! 2.QxR.

    Check All Checks

    The it flows like clockwork.

Now not taking the Bishop after 2...Bxg2+

Final round in the tourney. You need only a draw to clinch first place. But,you're in deep trouble again *sigh*
A piece down, your rook is hanging and there's the threat of discovered check with mate or an attack on your queen. It's hopeless. You're about to tip your king and settle for 2nd or 3rd place but make one last scan of the position.
    Do you see the miracle?

    Simple elegance

    Bagirov-Kholmov,1961

White played 24.Rfe1 probably thinking to draw after the exchange of both rooks.
But black had a nasty surprise in store.Do you see it?

    Black to play
