I repeat the challenge from above- if 1.d4 d5 2. c4 e6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4. Bg5 Nbd7 5.cxd5 exd5- why does white not win the pawn when 6.Nxd5??- give the analysis- its a shocking move- and I will give you a smiley face. All QGD players NEED to know this! ðŸ˜

I enjoyed plating this one.... Game 1952434
I tried a H-pawn attack, the attack fell apart, but the consequences were very good (for me) 🙂
EDIT: well maybe not much on taking c pawn, but it seems that moving the knight might not have beeen the best idea in the world
Originally posted by WulebgrOn your second game, after 2. c4, why did you play d5?! I know you're rated much higher than me and know more about this than I do, but isn't that position considered to be a very bad position for black?
Queen's Gambit is a terrific opening, but black has many choices. I'm comfortable on either side of the board with the QGA or the QGD.
In Game 1851154, black was okay until 14...O-O??
In Game 1571498, black accepted a draw in a slightly better position.
Originally posted by EnigmaticCamI agree, black is rubbish after 3. cxd4 Nxd4 (3. ... Qxd4 4. Nc3 and a good development lead to white) 4. e4 and white has the centre and tempo.
