Position after 23...Rf7 (p.273).
After some other comments on White's actual 24th move, Silman writes: "Aside from 24.Bxf5! exf5 25.e6 which wins at once, White could play quietly and lock in the victory with 24.Rb1 (defending the b-pawn and stopping any nonsense down the a-file) followed by Qg6 and Rh3. The beauty of this line (if something like 24.Bxf5 did not exist) is that Black would be completely helpless and would likely resign. Once again: if you have a long-range win (in this case White has a material advantage and an enduring attack) but don't have an immediate knockout, stop all enemy counterplay!"
My question is, after 24.Rb1 Bd8 25.Qg6 Bh4 26.Rh3 Bd8 what does White have as far as a kingside attack is concerned?

A nice manouver here is 27.Rh7 ..... 28.Qh5.....29.Rh8+ with deadly threats....If the black K gets to e7 you go on with Qh4+
Originally posted by DagamoStyleThat's very nice. And the Black king is stuck where he is, because after 27.Rh7 Kf8 (going for e7) then 28.Rh8+ Ke7 29.Qg5+ (or 29.Qh4+).
