quick question

does your rating change while you have multiple games going? how many moves do youi have to make before resigning will count for points?

The answer to the first question is no, I think the second question is something to do with does a certain number of moves need to be made before resignation will affect a rating? (which I don't know the answer to)

Your rating changes whenever a (rated) game is completed (naturally). Only your and your opponent's ratings at the end of the game are used; it doesn't matter what they were when you started the game or at any other time. (I think maybe this is what your question was getting at...?)

Pretty much everywhere on the site only the current rating is shown (e.g. when you look at a completed game, it shows the current ratings, not what they were when the game ended). The only exception is the rating graph.

A game is rated once two moves have been played on each side.
